Applied Materials unveiled its EPIC (Equipment and Process Innovation and Commercialization) Center in Sunnyvale, California, a $5 billion R&D center designed to bring chipmakers together.
EPIC gives chipmakers a shared venue to co-develop equipment and process technology, which could speed up advanced-node tooling for AI accelerators and reinforce Applied Materials' position in leading-edge fab equipment.
