NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang has secured the top spot on Glassdoor’s 2026 Best CEOs list, receiving a 99 percent approval rating from employees who directly evaluate leadership performance. Glassdoor reintroduced this ranking this year after a five-year hiatus, replacing its previous Best-Led Companies list, which placed NVIDIA at number one in 2025. The shift aims to focus specifically on how CEO and executive leadership influences employee experience and corporate reputation. Glassdoor noted that as artificial intelligence and evolving workplace expectations reshape professional environments, exceptional leadership remains crucial, emphasizing that top executives empower their teams and cultivate authentic cultures rather than merely overseeing daily operations.
The methodology relies on anonymous reviews from U.S. employees submitted between May 16, 2025, and May 15, 2026. Workers are asked to assess their sentiment toward CEO and senior management performance while providing feedback on company culture. This year, nine technology CEOs earned spots on the list of fifty, making tech the most represented sector, followed by leaders in real estate, financial services, and manufacturing. Rounding out the top five alongside Huang are Jason Johnson of Quick Quack Car Wash, Kevin Lobo of Stryker, Alan Schnitzer of Travelers, and Chris Czarnecki of Keller Williams. Additionally, twenty-eight of the fifty honored CEOs also appeared on Glassdoor’s 2026 Best Places to Work list, underscoring the connection between strong executive guidance and positive workplace environments.
Highlighting the broader context of the rankings, Glassdoor chief economist Daniel Zhao stated in a report, “Trust in leadership is fraying at exactly the moment employees need it most. Our data shows senior leadership ratings hitting their lowest point in nearly a decade. Against that backdrop, the CEOs on this list stand out for doing the opposite: communicating clearly, staying grounded in their company’s mission and earning genuine trust from the people they lead.” The award specifically honors leaders who demonstrate empathy, clarity, and purpose amid growing job market uncertainty.
