하이퍼스케일 데이터는 미시간 시설의 비트코인 채굴을 중단하고 AI 데이터센터 파트너십으로 전환했다.
Hyperscale Data, Inc., trading on the NYSE American under the ticker GPUS, announced that it has permanently ceased all Bitcoin mining operations at its Michigan data center effective September 1, 2026. This strategic shift prepares the facility for the deployment of artificial intelligence infrastructure under a master services agreement with a California-based neocloud provider referred to as the Customer. The agreement features an initial ten-year term with two five-year extension options, covering an initial twenty megawatts of capacity and projecting more than $1.2 billion in revenue. If the Customer exercises its option for an additional thirty-two megawatts within the first two years and extends through both five-year renewal periods, total contract revenue could exceed $3.0 billion. Following successful inspections and ongoing engineering upgrades, both parties agreed to immediately halt mining activities to accelerate the transition to AI operations.
The company emphasizes that the current agreement represents only a small fraction of the facility's long-term potential. Even if all expansion options are fully exercised, the deployment would consume approximately twenty percent of the roughly three hundred forty megawatts of total power capacity ultimately planned for the site. This leaves about eighty percent of the anticipated power available for future customers and additional AI infrastructure growth, provided the planned power capacity is successfully developed and secured. Chief Executive Officer William Horne stated, We are pleased with the continued progress we are making at the Facility. The immediate shutdown of the Bitcoin mining operations allows our team to focus the Facility's power, infrastructure and resources in preparing the Facility for its usage by our Customer. Further, as the expansion of the Facility to support AI computing infrastructure progresses, it is my belief that our stockholders will be rewarded as the Company's market capitalization, which currently trades at a significant discount to other data center companies, begins to normalize in comparison to its available contracted power capacity. In fact, earlier this year, VanEck's head of digital asset research stated that Bitcoin mining companies, like ours, that could repurpose existing sites for AI were sitting on a gold mine because they were trading at a steep discount to traditional data center companies.
Transitioning away from Bitcoin mining allows Hyperscale Data to redirect electrical capacity, physical infrastructure, personnel, and capital toward supporting the Customer and expanding AI capabilities. The company also anticipates realizing additional financial gains from the planned sale of its retired Bitcoin mining servers. Management cautions that these expansion plans remain preliminary and are subject to various risks and uncertainties, with no guarantee that the additional capacity will be available, financed, approved, or economically viable.
Through its wholly owned subsidiary Sentinum, Inc., the company operates a data center providing colocation and hosting services for AI ecosystems. Its other subsidiary, Ault Capital Group, Inc., functions as a hybrid private equity firm managing investments across financial services, digital assets, industrial services, hospitality, defense technologies, and other sectors. Hyperscale Data anticipates divesting Ault Capital Group in 2027 through a voluntary exchange of newly designated Series F Exchangeable Preferred Stock for Class A and Class B Common Stock of Ault Capital Group. Only shareholders who properly surrender their Series F shares during the exchange offer will receive Ault Capital Group shares upon completion of the divestiture. Until then, the company continues to provide mission-critical products through Ault Capital Group and its affiliates.
