Microsoft has partnered with ChronoScale, the cloud computing spin-off of Applied Digital, on a 50-megawatt deployment in the United States. The facility will utilize Nvidia GB300 NVL72 systems paired with liquid cooling infrastructure. While the exact location remains undisclosed, ChronoScale’s recently filed Annual Report indicates it currently leases 1.5MW, 5MW, and 7.5MW of capacity from third-party data centers in Minnesota, Utah, and Colorado, respectively.

“Microsoft is helping define the next era of AI, and we are proud to partner with them on the infrastructure required to support that transformation,” said Cenly Chen, CEO of ChronoScale. “This planned 50MW deployment reflects our focus on building AI infrastructure for the density and scale of accelerated computing. By combining Nvidia GB300 NVL72 systems, liquid cooling, and our full-stack infrastructure capabilities, we intend to deliver production-ready AI compute with the performance, reliability, and scalability our customers require.”

For the fiscal year ending May 31, 2026, ChronoScale reported revenue of $71.6 million, a 15 percent decline from the prior year. The company attributed the drop to the loss of a customer during the second half of the previous fiscal year.

ChronoScale was spun out from Applied Digital in January 2026. To facilitate the separation, Applied Digital collaborated with Ekso Bionics Holdings (Ekso), which develops exoskeleton solutions, to merge its cloud division with Ekso into a new entity named ChronoScale Corporation. Applied Digital retained approximately 97 percent ownership, while Ekso held the remaining shares. The transaction officially closed on May 5, 2026.

Applied Digital is a data center developer specializing in high-performance computing facilities and cryptocurrency mining operations. According to its annual report, the company operates the Polaris Forge 1 campus in Ellendale, North Dakota, which reached 100MW of IT capacity upon coming online in October 2025. A second 150MW building at the site was partially operational as of May 2026, and a third 150MW facility is under construction with a targeted launch in 2027; CoreWeave is listed as a customer at this location.

In August 2024, Applied Digital broke ground on Polaris Forge 2 in Harwood, North Dakota. The site will feature an initial 200MW of capacity, expected to be fully operational by 2027, and has been leased by an unnamed U.S.-based investment-grade hyperscaler for 15 years. Meanwhile, ground was broken on Delta Forge 1 in January 2026. Located in what the company describes as a “strategic southern U.S. market” and identified in an April investor presentation as Alexandria, Louisiana, the 300MW campus has secured a 15-year lease from another hyperscaler.

Further expansion includes Polaris Forge 3, a 300MW data center campus in a “northern United States region” that is currently under construction and pre-leased, with deliveries slated to begin in the second half of 2027. Additionally, Delta Forge 2, a 210MW campus also situated in the South, is under construction and expected to be delivered in 2028.
