SKHY가 또 한 번 사상 최대 실적을 발표했으며, 회사 측은 향후 3년 치 DRAM과 HBM 공급량이 모두 매진됐다고 밝혔다.
SK hynix has ushered in the era of quarterly revenue topping 100 trillion won. Operating profit alone exceeded 83 trillion won in the third quarter of this year, as the company set a new all-time record for the sixth consecutive quarter.
With demand for AI semiconductors, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), reshaping the memory market, the run of record results is expected to continue for some time. SK hynix expressed confidence, saying, "Our DRAM and HBM supply for the next three years, through 2029, is virtually all sold out."
SK hynix also outlined a plan to share the returns from its investment in Japanese semiconductor company KIOXIA Corporation with shareholders, and will pursue shareholder returns totaling about 100 trillion won this year.
SK hynix announced on the 28th that its consolidated operating profit for the third quarter of this year was provisionally tallied at 83.3338 trillion won.
That was a 632.1% increase from the same period last year. Revenue rose 327.9% year on year to 104.6155 trillion won. This was the first time quarterly revenue had topped 100 trillion won.
The strength of its high-value-added memory products drove the results higher. As shipments of HBM4 (sixth-generation) ramped up, sales of server-grade DDR5 rose sharply, driving growth in DRAM results. Sales also expanded in the NAND flash division, including 321-layer enterprise solid-state drives (eSSDs).
SK hynix said that 12-layer HBM4 products are continuing to ship smoothly according to schedules agreed with major customers. Sample shipments of HBM4E (seventh-generation) were also completed in the second quarter, and development and evaluation are proceeding smoothly in line with customer schedules.
SK hynix, which expects both HBM4 shipment volumes and its share of revenue to surpass those of its previous flagship product, HBM3E (fifth-generation), in the fourth quarter, emphasized that yields are also quite stable.
SK hynix disclosed that the long-term supply volumes (LTAs) it has secured currently account for at least 50% of its total output for 2027 and 2028, emphasizing that this would generate stable profits over the long term. The company also said that some major customers are discussing further extensions to their contract terms under LTAs, which typically have a five-year term.
The company is also substantially increasing shareholder returns. SK hynix said it plans to provide about 100 trillion won in shareholder returns over the course of this year.
It set cash dividends at at least 30 trillion won and the value of share buybacks and cancellations at at least 60 trillion won. The cash dividend for the third quarter totaled 14 trillion won, with a dividend of 20,000 won per share. This comprised a 10,000-won dividend reflecting improved results and a special dividend of 10,000 won to share the returns from its investment in KIOXIA Corporation with shareholders.
