조던과 사우디아라비아의 HUMAIN은 AI 개발 및 혁신 인프라 공동 추진을 위한 전략적 양해각서(MoU)를 체결했다.
Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE) and Saudi Arabia’s artificial intelligence company HUMAIN have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in AI and support the development of Arabic AI models, talent, startups, and advanced technology infrastructure. The agreement was executed by Eng. Sami Smeirat, Vice Chairman of Jordan’s National Council for Future Technology and Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, alongside HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin on the sidelines of LEAP 2026 in Riyadh.
The partnership marks a strategic pivot for Jordan, moving beyond the passive adoption of AI technologies toward a more active role in their creation and deployment. Under the MoU, the two parties will focus on five key areas of cooperation: advancing Arabic AI models; accelerating AI integration across the public sector; supporting startups and investment in the digital economy; developing Jordanian AI talent and skills; and strengthening collaboration on AI infrastructure and specialized computing.
As strategic partners within the Arabic AI Models Alliance, Jordan and HUMAIN will collaborate on building advanced AI models tailored for the Arab world, including ALLAM—a family of large language models designed to enhance Arabic language technologies and expand their applications across multiple sectors. The partnership will also identify priority sectors to accelerate government AI adoption, develop scalable solutions, and support sovereign AI strategies and data localization in compliance with applicable legislation.
“This partnership represents an important step in Jordan’s journey from adopting artificial intelligence technologies to actively contributing to their development,” said Smeirat. “Our focus is on investing in talent, supporting practical AI use cases, and ensuring that Jordanian companies and professionals are part of the global ecosystem shaping the future of artificial intelligence.” He noted that the Ministry is actively integrating Jordanian talent and firms into the AI development ecosystem, aligning with the directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to position Jordan as a leading regional hub for technology and AI.
“Jordan’s strength lies in its people,” Smeirat added. “We are focused on creating greater opportunities for Jordanian talent and companies while attracting global and regional technology leaders to build, innovate and invest in Jordan.” The MoU will open new avenues for Jordanian firms to access advanced AI products, platforms, technologies, and computing infrastructure, while exploring potential investment and collaboration opportunities. It will also facilitate training, upskilling, fellowships, practical placements, and talent exchanges, alongside access to dedicated AI computing resources to support model training, development, and deployment.
This agreement aligns with the broader initiatives of Jordan’s National Council for Future Technology to translate the Kingdom’s ambitions in emerging and future technologies into actionable programs and strategic partnerships. By deepening collaboration with global and regional technology leaders, Jordan aims to accelerate innovation, expand its digital economy, and reinforce its standing as a regional hub for technology and artificial intelligence.
