EPC Power opened a new 167,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in South Carolina that triples its production capacity

EPC Power, the only independent American-owned manufacturer of utility-scale power conversion technology, announced the opening of its manufacturing facility in Fountain Inn, South Carolina on July 15, 2026. The 167,000-square-foot facility is the company's second location in South Carolina and third overall, nearly tripling its production capacity to respond to rising demand for AI data center infrastructure and grid and energy stability.

The facility will produce EPC Power's M and MRACK series power inverters, which are designed specifically for grid and storage applications as well as AI data center environments using the company's proprietary Agile Grid Forming technology. These inverters manage unpredictable and fluctuating AI workload power demands and help data centers operate reliably while reducing strain on the electric grid. Upon reaching full production capacity later in July 2026, the facility will immediately provide 27GW of annual capacity and can be rapidly scaled to 40GW annually. The expansion will create 275 new jobs.

Jim Fusaro, CEO at EPC Power, stated that the South Carolina expansion is a direct response to worldwide AI infrastructure investment and power demands. He emphasized that by tripling capacity, the company is giving data center and utility operators access to more critical components domestically, which reduces risk in their expansion plans and strengthens supply chain resilience.

The expansion occurs as the global data center industry experiences unprecedented growth. According to JLL's 2026 Global Data Center Market Outlook, nearly 100GW of new data center capacity is expected to be added by 2030, which will double global capacity. With the data center market projected to grow at 14% CAGR, energy innovations like EPC Power's inverters are critical to alleviating grid constraints. EPC Power remains the only domestic manufacturer that produces all its inverters in the United States, and the South Carolina facility positions the company to continue securing the U.S. data center supply chain while reinforcing South Carolina as a premier hub for technological innovation.
