MemSilicon has completed tape-out of what it calls the world's first high-density, large-capacity 1T4R 1Gb RRAM chip, with its CMOS-compatible 1TnR technology route accelerating in development.
A 1Gb RRAM tape-out on standard CMOS processes points to a possible non-volatile memory alternative for AI edge and in-memory compute, but it is not HBM and will not ease near-term accelerator memory shortages.
