Technology analyst Tim Culpan noted that TSMC has been progressively informing customers of price increases for wafer foundry services. The price increases encompass not only the 3nm process cited in market reports, but extend across all advanced processes at 7nm and below, with overall increases of approximately 5% to 10%, affecting approximately 75% of wafer revenue sources.

According to reports, Huatai Securities issued research noting that recent market concerns about overseas electrolytic aluminum capacity expansion in 2027–2028 have been intensifying, with focus on planned capacity in Indonesia, India, Angola, and Saudi Arabia. However, when considering constraints from domestic capacity ceilings, uncertainties in power infrastructure for overseas projects, and supply-demand balance calculations, Huatai Securities believes the market's current pricing for aluminum's long-term supply-demand outlook is excessively pessimistic. Overseas long-term supply and demand can maintain tight balance, and if global electricity tensions intensify or AI-related demand increases significantly, this could further drive the aluminum supply-demand structure toward substantial shortages. From a cost perspective, the complete cost base for high-cost smelting operations may continue to rise. Huatai Securities calculates that the floor support for overseas spot aluminum prices (including spot premiums) in 2027–2028 remains above approximately $3,000 per ton, corresponding to approximately 22,000 yuan per ton domestically. The current equity market valuation of the aluminum sector is clearly below this price support, suggesting potential undervaluation.
