AI neocloud venture funding has reportedly hit a record $6.6B.

A record $6.6B of venture capital flowing into neoclouds signals intensifying competition for GPU capacity and gives new entrants more capital to challenge established providers.

Morningstar reported on Oct. 27, citing PitchBook, that global venture-capital funding for AI neoclouds reached $6.6 billion across 58 deals so far in 2026, 51% above the 2025 total of $4.4 billion. Neoclouds sell remote access to GPU computing for AI workloads. The tally counts venture-capital deals only; borrowing is reported separately.

At an Oct. 22 interview at NVIDIA's GTC conference in Berlin, CEO Jensen Huang told CNBC that demand for neocloud capital exceeded available capital. His comment describes demand, while the PitchBook-attributed figure measures venture funding raised.

### What the funding tally includes

The reported $6.6 billion is a global, year-to-date venture-capital figure. It does not combine equity rounds with debt facilities or other financing arrangements.

Nscale raised a $2 billion Series C in March 2026 at a reported $14.6 billion valuation. In February, it separately secured a $1.4 billion debt facility backed by GPUs. Together AI raised an $800 million Series C in July at an $8.3 billion valuation, following a reported $3.3 billion valuation in February 2025.

Nscale also announced $3.36 billion in pre-IPO financing in September 2026, covered in NeoTeo's earlier report. That was separate from the Series C and the GPU-backed facility.

### Three ways to finance GPU infrastructure

| Financing route | Example | How it works |

|---|---|---|

| Venture capital | Nscale's $2 billion Series C; Together AI's $800 million Series C | Investors fund the company through a venture round. |

| GPU-backed debt | Nscale's $1.4 billion facility; USD.AI's lending model | GPUs serve as collateral for borrowing. |

| Customer-payment support | NVIDIA and GMI Cloud | In the arrangement Business Insider reported, NVIDIA would step in if a GMI Cloud customer stopped paying, and GMI would share part of its revenue with NVIDIA. GMI said it was committing $500 million to infrastructure expansion under the model. |

A GPU-backed loan does not necessarily take the hardware out of service. USD.AI says eligible GPUs can remain deployed and generate revenue while serving as collateral, subject to data-center access, monitoring and collateral requirements. Its Compute IQ assessment considers the operator, customer credit, compute-contract terms, hardware, available equity and transaction structure.

NVIDIA's roles in this market include investment and hardware supply as well as the specific GMI Cloud arrangement. Morningstar reported that NVIDIA invested in Nscale and Together AI and sells GPUs to neocloud providers. The GMI Cloud model is a distinct example of customer-payment support.

### NVIDIA, market concerns and a consolidation forecast

CoreWeave and Nebius shares had fallen amid concerns that AI infrastructure spending could take too long to pay off, Morningstar reported on Oct. 27. David Yakobovitch, a general partner at DataPower Capital and an investor in Nscale and Together AI, predicted that companies including Meta, Google, Amazon and Microsoft might buy some neoclouds at large discounts, particularly providers that do not own their infrastructure.
