Qatar’s state-backed Meeza has secured an 8MW colocation lease with an unnamed global hyperscaler, marking the company’s largest contract to date.
Qatari data center provider Meeza has secured an 8MW lease with an unnamed global hyperscaler. On September 7, the company announced the long-term agreement, valued at more than QAR 1 billion ($270 million), with “one of the world’s fastest-growing cloud services providers.” According to Meeza, this marks its largest contract of its kind to date. The capacity will be delivered from an upcoming data center campus specifically designed to accommodate cloud and AI workloads.
Mohammed Ali Al-Ghaithani, Meeza’s CEO, commented on the deal: “This landmark agreement, the largest in Meeza's history, is a powerful testament to the growing demand for our data center infrastructure and the confidence that global technology leaders place in Meeza. Securing this commitment reflects the strength of the market opportunity and the importance of scalable digital infrastructure.” He added, “Our collaboration with one of the world’s fastest-growing cloud service providers further reinforces Meeza's pivotal role in accelerating Qatar’s digital transformation and strengthening its position as a trusted destination for global investments, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and advanced technology infrastructure.”
To support its expansion, Meeza recently secured a QAR 1.6 billion ($438 million) credit facility with Dukhan Bank to fund a 44MW data center buildout. The capacity will be distributed across three facilities—M-VAULT 6, M-VAULT 7, and M-VAULT 8—at least two of which were announced last year.
This latest lease follows a series of recent hyperscaler agreements. In July 2026, the firm announced the early completion of a QAR 350 million ($96 million) deal with an unnamed global hyperscaler to expand an existing facility by 4MW. That was followed by a similar October agreement with another undisclosed hyperscaler to provide 6MW of additional capacity for QAR 750 million ($205 million). It remains unclear whether the same provider executed these prior contracts.
Qatar represents a relatively compact data center market, with Meeza currently operating five of the 11 facilities tracked in the country by DataCenterMap.
