As artificial intelligence drives one of the largest historical infrastructure investment cycles, Mindstream Energy is advancing its Al-Risha Sovereign AI and Digital Infrastructure Campus in Jordan around a simple principle: Build Compute Where the Energy Exists.

PwC's Global Data Centre Outlook 2026–2050 projects approximately 31.6 trillion dollars in cumulative global data center capital investment through 2050, with annual spending increasing from about 800 billion dollars in 2026 to 1.8 trillion dollars by 2050.

Mindstream Energy's planned 245-acre Al-Risha Sovereign AI and Digital Infrastructure Campus in Jordan is designed to scale to approximately 400 megawatts, with an initial 70 megawatt deployment targeted for the second quarter of 2027. The all-modular campus integrates on-site natural gas generation, modular AI and high-performance computing infrastructure, secure connectivity, and physical security.

PwC identifies power availability as a leading factor determining where future AI infrastructure will be developed, along with connectivity, security, sovereign hosting requirements, access to advanced computing technology, and policy certainty. The organization also projects that the Middle East could attract approximately 1.1 trillion dollars in data center investment through 2050, supported by the region's ability to coordinate energy, capital, land, infrastructure planning, and government policy.

Mark F. Thimmig, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mindstream Energy, stated: "AI infrastructure is rapidly becoming an energy challenge as much as a computing challenge. Capital and access to GPUs are not enough if reliable power, land, connectivity, and government support are unavailable. At Al-Risha, we started with the energy source and built the infrastructure strategy outward from there."

The Al-Risha campus combines containerized natural gas generation with modular AI and high-performance computing infrastructure in a secure, energy-first design. The facility will benefit from a long-term natural gas supply agreement with Jordan's National Petroleum Company, on-site power generation, government incentives, fiber connectivity, and a modular deployment strategy to expand capacity with customer demand.

PwC's outlook highlights the increasing importance of sovereign AI and data-residency requirements, as governments and enterprises seek greater control over where critical data is stored and AI workloads are processed. Mindstream's Al-Risha platform is being designed to support sovereign AI, high-performance computing, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, digital asset computing and other advanced compute applications within dedicated environments supported by independent power, secure telecommunications, and physical security.

Mindstream has assembled a growing strategic ecosystem spanning AI infrastructure, compute hardware, power engineering, cooling, fiber connectivity, digital asset computing, insurance and risk management, with 22 companies already engaged in discussion and planning.
