엔비디아, 2027년까지 최대 2GW 규모 AI 팩토리 구축을 위해 호주 기업 8곳과 파트너십 체결
Nvidia is partnering with Australian companies to expand the country’s AI infrastructure capacity. The chip designer is collaborating with Firmus, Sharon AI, Iren, ResetData, Megaport, CDC, NextDC, and AirTrunk, targeting the deployment of 2GW of compute capacity by 2027.
The partners are working together to expand land, power, and shell capacity to host Nvidia infrastructure and support domestic demand for AI compute. They will operate AI data centers using the Nvidia DSX platform.
“AI factories turn energy into intelligence — the essential resource of the AI economy,” said Raj Mirpuri, vice president of global AI clouds and infrastructure ecosystem at Nvidia. “Nvidia DSX is a full-stack platform compatible with the CUDA ecosystem and enhanced through software over the life of the infrastructure, making AI factories more productive, fungible and durable — and a new investable asset class. Through our partnerships with Australian NCPs, this infrastructure can support multiple generations of Nvidia compute and expand local access to accelerated computing and Nvidia Nemotron open models, helping Australian innovators build AI at home.”
Firmus is expanding its Project Southgate initiative as part of the collaboration, while Sharon AI is deploying up to 68,000 Nvidia GPUs using the DSX platform. Iren, another neocloud partner, is combining the DSX AI factory architecture with its power, land, data centers, GPU deployment, and infrastructure operations. Megaport is expanding access to Nvidia compute through its Latitude.sh subsidiary.

We are applying that blueprint across our development portfolio, bringing Iren's proven international delivery and operating experience to our 800MW Bundey campus in South Australia.”
Meanwhile, the data center operators partnering with Nvidia have ensured their facilities are optimized for high-density deployments. AirTrunk is currently expanding AI-ready powered shells across the region, incorporating direct-to-chip liquid-cooling infrastructure designed to support intensive AI workloads.
