Northampton Capital Partners has formed a joint venture with Provident Data Centers to develop a 54MW data center in the North Dallas Corridor of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. According to the partners, the facility is expected to come online in late 2027. The exact location of the proposed site has not been disclosed.

In addition to the announced development, the companies have agreed to a framework for building additional inference-ready data center sites across markets in the United States.

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP served as legal counsel to Northampton Capital Partners. Haynes and Boone LLP acted as legal counsel for Provident Data Centers, while Citizens Capital Markets served as its financial advisor.

Northampton describes itself as an alternative asset management firm focused on infrastructure investments in the middle market, targeting the energy, digital, and other critical infrastructure sectors. The firm manages approximately $1.1 billion in assets and last year invested in Blueprint Data Centers, a Texas-based data center developer.

Provident Data Centers operates as the data center arm of Provident, a Dallas-based real estate development firm founded in 1991. On its website, Provident lists projects in Grand Prairie, Fort Worth, Garland, Plano, and Austin, Texas, as well as in Indiana, Alabama, Missouri, and Pennsylvania. It also lists three ‘legacy’ projects in Dallas and Richardson, Texas, alongside a site in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
