HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has secured 264 acres of land in Hyderabad to develop an AI data center campus with a capacity of up to 1 gigawatt (GW). The facility will be constructed in phases to serve frontier AI companies and hyperscalers requiring high-density, liquid-cooled compute infrastructure. In a blog post announcing the project, TCS stated that HyperVault and its partners plan to invest up to Rs 70,000 crore in building and managing the site.

Designed for AI-scale computing, the campus will support high-density GPU deployments for training, inference, and advanced workloads. Development pacing will align with customer demand and evolving technology requirements. At full build-out, the site is expected to rank among India’s largest and most advanced AI infrastructure facilities. The design incorporates green energy integration and water-neutral principles. Beyond the data center itself, the project is anticipated to stimulate India’s broader AI ecosystem, impacting power, cooling, networking, construction, and engineering sectors. The initiative will also generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region.

HyperVault AI Data Center Limited operates as a TCS subsidiary focused on delivering data center infrastructure for hyperscalers, AI firms, and enterprises. Backed by the Tata Group with TPG as a strategic partner, the company is scaling toward a total capacity exceeding one gigawatt. Its facilities utilize direct-to-chip liquid cooling and are engineered for high rack density, supported by a power model that combines renewable energy with grid reliability and dedicated network connectivity for AI workloads. Parent company TCS reported consolidated revenues exceeding $30 billion for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. TCS aims to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services firm, assisting clients across the technology stack from infrastructure to intelligent applications.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with HyperVault officials and hailed the project as a milestone for the state and nation. “This establishes that Hyderabad is now at the forefront of the global AI revolution with a strong focus on infrastructure. This decade is one of Artificial Intelligence. Access to AI models and compute is fast-becoming public infrastructure and having this compute reside in Telangana gives us an advantage,” Reddy said. IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, who led the negotiations, emphasized the state’s commitment to rapid execution. “We tell the investors and corporations across the world, Telangana Means Business. We move at the speed and with clarity of process that matches the expectations of the tech and corporate world,” he stated. Sridhar Babu noted the deal originated from a January Davos conversation between the Chief Minister and N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons. “Since then, within a few months, officials and our friends at HyperVault and TCS have moved at the speed of thought to make this happen,” he added.
