Cleanspark (CLSK), a bitcoin miner, leads gains among crypto equities as the market recognizes the firm's pivot from cryptocurrency mining to AI data-center operations.
CleanSpark (CLSK) led gains among crypto equities on Tuesday morning, with shares rising as much as 20% in pre-market trade before trimming gains to around 10% after market open. The surge followed the company's announcement of a 20-year infrastructure lease agreement for its Sandersville, Georgia campus, featuring two optional five-year extensions with a technology company tenant. The lease is expected to generate approximately $6.6 billion in contracted revenue over the initial term. CleanSpark noted that its entire Texas portfolio is now under exclusivity with the tenant pursuant to an executed letter of intent.
The announcement lifted other Bitcoin mining companies pivoting toward data center infrastructure. Keel Infrastructure (KEEL), Riot Platforms (RIOT), and Mara Holdings (MARA) each rose approximately 3%, while Hut 8 (HUT) and HIVE Digital (HIVE) climbed around 2%. Strategy (MSTR), which holds the largest corporate Bitcoin treasury, saw shares jump over 3%, while Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), an Ethereum treasury operator, rose nearly 7%.
Bitcoin traded largely unchanged during Tuesday morning's session, hovering around $63,700. Ethereum outperformed major cryptocurrencies, leading gains on the day. Among crypto-linked equities, Coinbase (COIN) rose approximately 1%, while Circle (CRCL) declined over 3%, with both companies awaiting the anticipated release of a revised CLARITY Act draft later in the week as a potential catalyst for further movement.
