Enterprise software giant Oracle announced better-than-expected Q3 CY2026 results, with revenue of $19.35 billion, up 29.6% year-on-year and exceeding analyst estimates of $19.09 billion by 1.3%. Adjusted earnings per share reached $1.92, a 10.5% beat against consensus expectations of $1.74. Adjusted operating income totaled $8.15 billion with a 42.1% margin, outpacing analyst estimates of $7.80 billion by 4.5%. Operating margin expanded sharply to 34.8% from 28.7% in the prior-year quarter, while billings grew 42.4% year-on-year to $25 billion. The company reconfirmed its full-year revenue guidance of $90 billion at the midpoint and modestly raised adjusted EPS guidance to $8.10.

Oracle's performance was driven primarily by accelerating demand for cloud infrastructure and strong adoption of embedded AI capabilities. CEO Mike Sicilia highlighted that cloud infrastructure revenue grew 121% year-over-year, with the company delivering 850 megawatts of AI capacity in the quarter—nearly triple the prior quarter's volume—reflecting years of investment in data center development and supply chain management. Embedded AI features within Oracle's Fusion and NetSuite application suites recorded over 150 million AI interactions, with deployment of more than 2,300 AI agents in production. Usage of these AI capabilities nearly doubled from the previous quarter, underscoring customer demand for automation and advanced analytics.

Oracle completed its planned regional expansion on Azure and AWS, now offering 70 multi-cloud database regions and 119 availability zones. The company launched Oracle Interconnect for AWS, enabling private, high-speed connections to all major cloud providers and facilitating distributed workloads. Product announcements included general availability of NetSuite Next (an AI-powered offering), expanded integration with OpenAI and Gemini models, and rollout of the AI Data Platform to further embed AI capabilities across its ecosystem.

Management emphasized flexible funding models to support infrastructure growth while managing capital intensity. These mechanisms include customer prepayments and bring-your-own-hardware arrangements, which reduce Oracle's direct capital expenditure. CFO Hilary Barbara Maxson noted that the company expects "around half of our remaining performance obligations to convert into sales over the next 36 months," supporting future revenue growth.

Looking ahead, Oracle expects sustained demand for cloud infrastructure and AI-driven software. The company will maintain high levels of investment in data center capacity to meet customer demand for AI compute, supported by diverse funding models. CEO Sicilia noted that new agentic AI features aim to "compress SaaS deployments from years to months and months to weeks," potentially unlocking faster revenue recognition. While gross margins may flatten as infrastructure investments mature, operating margins are expected to remain stable due to efficiency gains and pricing discipline. Management believes the evolving business mix will contribute to strong free cash flow conversion as recent large-scale projects ramp up.

Catalysts to monitor in upcoming quarters include the pace of new data center and AI infrastructure deployments, customer adoption rates for AI-powered applications and agentic tools, and the progression of multi-cloud and open-source model partnerships, as well as Oracle's ability to manage capital intensity and convert its growing performance obligations into realized revenue and cash flow.
