암호화폐 채굴 기업 BTC Digital이 현지 베트남 개발사와 함께 AI 데이터센터 구축을 위한 양해각서에 서명했다.
Cryptomining firm BTC Digital has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nam Trang Cat Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (NTC) and SG Partners Co., Limited (SGP) to explore developing an AI data center in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The Nasdaq-listed company announced the agreement on August 20.
The proposed facility would be located at Nam Trang Cat Industrial Park, which spans approximately two million square meters (21.5 million square feet). According to NTC, the industrial park has a planned power load of around 300MW. However, BTC Digital has not disclosed the proposed capacity of the data center, and the MoU does not include a power supply agreement.
The three companies will initially assess the project's feasibility, site conditions, power availability, network and cooling requirements, permitting needs, customer demand, and financing options. NTC will assist with local coordination and verification of the site, power, and supporting infrastructure. BTC Digital will contribute technical evaluation, while SGP will engage potential investors, financing providers, and other industry participants.
The MoU has a two-year term with an initial six-month exclusivity period; its principal commercial provisions are otherwise non-binding. Any investment, construction, equipment procurement, power supply, customer, or operating agreement remains subject to due diligence, regulatory approvals, financing, and definitive contracts.
"We intend to advance the Hai Phong opportunity in stages and make investment or construction decisions only after the key conditions have been validated," said BTC Digital CEO Siguang Peng.
Nam Trang Cat Industrial Park infrastructure development only began in May 2026, with Vinhomes Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company identified by the Hai Phong government as the developer of the wider 200-hectare project.
BTC Digital, formerly Meten Holding Group, changed its name in August 2023. An August 2026 SEC filing describes the company as a crypto asset technology business focused on Bitcoin mining, along with mining-machine sales, rentals, and hosting services.
