Nordic data center firm Heim Datacenter has secured investment from private equity firm Omnes Capital.

The companies this month announced an investment partnership to support the development of Heim's European data center platform. The investment is led by Omnes Capital's Digital Infrastructure team for its CEP2 fund. The companies did not disclose the full size of the investment.

Omnes' investment will support the "continued development of Heim's team and organization and help advance its projects."

Heim launched earlier this year and is led by two former Green Mountain CEOs. The company was set up by Kristian Gyland, who was CEO of Green Mountain from 2017 until 2023, and Svein Atle Hagaseth, who was CEO of the same company from 2023 to 2026.

On its website, Heim lists plans for a facility in West Sweden, another in West Finland, and one around the Finnish capital area. The company said it intends to start in Finland and expand across the Nordics and wider Europe.

The first phase of the Sweden West site will offer 30MW, eventually reaching 300MW in 2029 across 200,000 sqm (2.15 million sq ft). The Finland West campus will initially offer 100MW, scaling to 130MW by 2028 across 100,000 sqm (1 million sq ft). The Finland Capital project will initially offer 50MW, scaling to 150MW by 2030 across 140,000 sqm (1.5 million sq ft).

"From the beginning, we wanted Heim to be a company we could be proud of, both for what we build and how we treat people. Choosing our investment partner had to reflect that. In Omnes, we found people who share our values and our direction. They felt like part of the Heim family from our first conversations. That gives us a strong foundation as we build for the next decade and stay true to the reasons we started Heim," said Svein Atle Hagaseth, co-founder and CEO of Heim Datacenter.

Founded in 1999, Omnes Capital is a European investor in infrastructure and private equity, with €6.7 billion in assets under management across energy transition infrastructure, digital infrastructure, venture capital and growth, and co-investment strategies.

"Heim brings together an exceptional leadership team with a proven ability to develop, build and operate data center infrastructure at scale. Their experience, deep understanding of the Nordic market and long-term approach to building the business make them an ideal partner for Omnes. Together, we aim to develop a leading European platform that responds to growing demand for energy-efficient digital infrastructure meeting the highest operational and technical standards in the industry," said Caroline Yametti, partner, digital infrastructure at Omnes Capital.
