Vertiv (VRT) stock surged as its orders doubled amid the AI build-out, with management saying the business is 'evolving faster than ever'.
We are in the middle of the largest infrastructure buildout and it's accelerating," Vertiv's CEO Giordano Albertazzi stated in the company's earnings release. "The demands on data center infrastructure are evolving faster than ever, and Vertiv's role in that buildout keeps expanding."
Vertiv (VRT) stock surged 13% as the data center infrastructure provider showed it continues to benefit from massive spending by companies such as Google (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT).
Vertiv makes power and cooling hardware for data centers and enterprise networks. The company explained that as AI fuels demand for this infrastructure, its orders have doubled year over year. The company counts Alphabet, Microsoft, Nvidia (NVDA), and Amazon (AMZN) among its customers, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence.
That demand, along with strong third-quarter results, has given Vertiv the confidence to raise its full-year outlook. For 2026, the company now expects net sales of $14.45 billion to $14.85 billion, up from the previous range of $13.8 billion to $14.2 billion. Adjusted diluted earnings per share are expected to be $7.10 to $7.20 for the year, representing earnings growth of 69% to 71%. The midpoint of that range is above the $6.73 per share forecast Wall Street analysts had penciled in.
In the third quarter, Vertiv reported net sales of $4.31 billion, beating Wall Street's expectations of $3.76 billion. Adjusted diluted earnings per share of $2.21 grew 78% year over year, also beating estimates of $1.82 per share.
