TeraWulf says its $19 billion, 20-year AI hosting agreement with Anthropic underscores its transformation from a Bitcoin miner into an AI infrastructure company. CEO Paul Prager said the long-term lease reflects surging demand for AI computing and validates TeraWulf's strategy of owning power, land, and operations.

The company is shedding non-core assets to focus capital on AI data centers it fully controls. Building these facilities remains a multi-year effort, with labor emerging as a key execution challenge.

Prager argued that the AI infrastructure boom is constrained by power quality rather than available land—a point reflected in the deal's emphasis on TeraWulf's ability to reliably deliver capacity. The agreement signals that Bitcoin mining is no longer part of TeraWulf's long-term strategy as it pivots entirely toward AI infrastructure.
