Euclyd, a semiconductor startup founded in 2024 and based at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, has secured over €200 million (approximately $230 million) in a Series A funding round co-led by Samsung Electronics, Somerset Capital Partners, and the EU's Scaleup Europe Fund. The round marks the largest Series A in Dutch chip history.

The company is developing custom silicon optimized for AI inference—the phase in which trained models perform practical tasks such as answering queries, generating images, and running autonomous systems. Euclyd's platform, branded "craftwerk," is engineered to reduce energy consumption, cost per token, and physical footprint relative to the GPU-centric architectures that currently dominate data centers. The company claims its technology achieves approximately 100 times higher power efficiency and lower costs compared to existing solutions.

The craftwerk platform centers on a system-in-package containing 16,384 processors, each featuring 128-way SIMD architecture, paired with 1 teabyte of ultra-bandwidth memory.

CEO Bernardo Kastrup has emphasized an existing partnership with Samsung that strengthens the company's engineering capabilities and supply chain access. Peter Wennink, the former CEO of ASML, has joined Euclyd's board as chairman. The EQT-managed Scaleup Europe Fund has an overall target of €5 billion, while Innovation Industries manages approximately €1 billion.

Euclyd plans to target enterprise, sovereign, and hyperscale AI markets, with initial chip system deployments targeted for 2028 and ambitions to attract thousands of enterprise clients by 2030. The company's revenue model will center on hardware sales and intellectual property licensing.
