Micron is developing an edge-inference memory product aimed at fixing HBM's power-efficiency weakness, with a mass-production target of 2028 for AI-powered robots.

If Micron meets its 2028 target, a lower-power memory option for edge inference would give robotics and on-device AI makers an alternative to power-hungry HBM and open a new segment for memory suppliers.
