Cirrascale cloud services expands dedicated GPU offerings with AMD EPYC 7002-based servers for deep learning workloads.

On August 8, 2019, Cirrascale Cloud Services announced it is now offering AMD EPYC 7002 Series Processors as part of its dedicated, multi-GPU cloud platform. The 2nd Gen AMD EPYC processor is the world's first x86 7nm data center CPU, designed to bring breakthrough performance for various deep learning workflows. These processors are expected to deliver up to 2X the performance-per-socket and 4X peak FLOPS per-socket over the previous generation AMD EPYC processors.

With up to 64 cores, the 2nd Gen AMD EPYC Processors are perfectly suited to drive performance and reduce bottlenecks in autonomous vehicle, medical imaging, and other deep learning application workflows. The 2nd Gen AMD EPYC Processors power demanding workloads with up to 64 cores, 128 threads, 8 memory channels with up to 4TB of memory per socket, and 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes coupled with embedded security features. Scott Aylor, corporate vice president and general manager, Datacenter Solutions Group at AMD, stated: "We designed the 2nd Gen AMD EPYC Processor Series to give our customers exactly what they said they needed.
