NVIDIA announced major expansions to its AI for Media platform at IBC 2026, introducing GPU-accelerated tools for video
At the IBC conference running September 11 to 14 in Amsterdam, more than 44,000 attendees from 170 plus countries gathered across 1,300 plus exhibitions and 600 speakers to explore innovations in media and entertainment. NVIDIA expanded its AI for Media collection of GPU-accelerated software development kits, NIM microservices, playbooks and blueprints to enhance audio, video and augmented-reality effects.
The NVIDIA Synthetic Video Detector NIM microservice, first announced at SIGGRAPH earlier this year, helps organizations assess whether footage is authentic or AI-generated. Since its initial release, SVD's accuracy has reached 99.3 percent for text-to-video content and 97.7 percent for image-to-video content. Dalet is integrating SVD into a secure cloud-hosted verification workflow for news organizations, allowing editorial teams to submit footage and review authenticity scores within a Dalet interface. TwelveLabs announced the general availability of Compliance by TwelveLabs, which integrates SVD to add frame-level authenticity signals and confidence scores in media compliance workflows. Wowza, whose technology powers more than 35,000 video deployments across over 170 countries, will distribute SVD through the Wowza Video Intelligence Framework to enable real-time analysis of live video feeds.
NVIDIA 3D Body Pose estimates 2D and 3D human joint locations from single-camera video, supporting player tracking, biomechanics analysis, replay enhancement and virtual production. Vizrt is using Body Pose to drive real-time 3D lighting effects in live virtual-studio environments. Video Frame Generation makes video motion appear smoother by creating new frames between originals, increasing frame rates by 2x or 4x while preserving visual quality. Ross Video is integrating VFG into its Rio Replay platform to create AI-assisted slow-motion video for sports production, supporting 6x slow-motion generation with development underway toward 8x interpolation.
NVIDIA Video Super Resolution uses AI to upscale video while reducing noise, blur and compression artifacts, adding 10-bit video support and adjustable enhancement controls. NVIDIA TrueHDR converts standard-dynamic-range video into high-dynamic-range output reaching approximately 2,000 nits while preserving local contrast. The NVIDIA LipSync NIM microservice transforms mouth movement to match a target audio track while preserving natural head pose, blinking and body movement, with improvements to facial occlusion handling. The new Active Speaker Detection microservice eliminates the need for speaker diarization, adds voice activity detection and expands deployment support. NDI is using LipSync to enable real-time translation and lip-synced dubbing for multilingual distribution. Studio Voice includes new Microphone Profiles built on NVIDIA Studio Voice NIM microservices to suppress background noise, reduce reverberation and improve speech clarity with polished tonal character for live communications and content creation.
