Core Scientific, Inc. (CORZ) is up 6.5% today. The most likely driver appears to be continued investor interest in Core Scientific's AI infrastructure story after the company's recent Texas policy update reinforced that it already pays its own power and infrastructure costs and supports a predictable framework for data-center growth. The move may also reflect lingering momentum from late-July announcements tied to stronger second-quarter operating results and a large infrastructure partnership with AMD.

On August 10, the company said it supports Texas efforts to improve transparency and accountability for data-center development, a notable point because Texas is an important market for its expansion plans. In that same update, Core Scientific said it has operated data centers in Texas since 2022, pays its own electric and infrastructure costs, and uses cooling technology designed for low water consumption.

On July 28, the company posted second-quarter 2026 revenue of $164.2 million, gross profit of $70.0 million, adjusted EBITDA of $41.1 million, and liquidity of $1.82 billion, showing sharp growth from the prior year. Also on July 28, Core Scientific announced an AMD partnership covering more than 500 megawatts of U.S. capacity beginning in 2027, with room to scale up to 2.5 gigawatts, which strengthened the long-term AI data-center narrative around the stock.
