Qualcomm Incorporated is advancing its position in the competitive artificial intelligence market through new product launches and potential corporate acquisitions. The company is exploring the acquisition of Tenstorrent, an AI chip design startup, in a transaction valued between $8 billion and $10 billion, according to The Information.

Alongside acquisition discussions, Qualcomm is focused on hardware innovation. Its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies Inc., has officially launched the Snapdragon Scalable Turnkey AI-Ready Toolkit, designed to help brands develop consumer products. The toolkit integrates specialized hardware modules with an AI-agnostic full software stack to streamline production timelines, enabling rapid commercialization and deployment of personal AI devices, starting with smart glasses. Organizations using this toolkit can concentrate on designing unique user experiences and executing efficient go-to-market strategies.

International eyewear company Inspecs is partnering as the primary collaborator under this new technological framework, aiming to deliver advanced smart glasses across its diverse portfolio of eyewear brands.

Ahead of Qualcomm's investor day on June 24, Bank of America increased its price target for the stock to $195, up from $165. However, the firm maintained an Underperform rating, citing the hyper-competitive environment Qualcomm faces as it re-enters the fast-growing AI chip industry. Market data indicates Qualcomm remains recognized as one of the ten best long-term artificial intelligence chip stocks.

The company's financial performance reflects strong momentum, with a 31.10% stock surge over the preceding year and an 18.01% year-to-date rise.
