The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) approved AES Indiana's $1.3bn plan for solar, storage and transmission to serve Google's data center in Monrovia, with Google expected to pay all associated costs.
The approval gives a hyperscale campus dedicated renewable-plus-storage supply and transmission build, and the customer-funded cost structure offers a template for serving large AI loads without shifting costs to other ratepayers.
