브라질, 데이터센터 프로젝트 3건에 228MW 규모의 전력망 용량 할당
Brazil's National Electric System Operator (ONS) has awarded 228 MW of grid capacity to three data center projects in the country. The allocation is part of the 1st 2026 Access Season under the National Transmission System Access Policy (PNAST).
The capacity was awarded through a competitive process to allocate remaining grid capacity at four connection points in São Paulo state. Seven projects participated, with a combined 451 MW of qualified demand.
All 228 MW was awarded to Pahlavan One, Pahlavan Three, and Digital DC Brasil. Pahlavan One and Pahlavan Three are part of CloudHQ's GRU campus. Phases one and two of the CloudHQ buildout will deliver three 48 MW data centers, each powered by an on-site substation.
Digital DC Brasil is a local data center company operating under NextStream, a Latin American data center platform created by the investment firm Actis. This capacity will be used to expand NextStream's Tamboré data center campus.
Brazil's Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, stated that the policy aims to build a state policy based on planning, technical criteria, and competitive processes.
Marcio Rea, ONS Director-General, said the new transmission access model works. He added that it consolidates a more predictable, transparent, and efficient environment for investors, consumers, and planning.
As many as 367 projects registered in the 1st Access Season, requesting more than 20 GW of connections across Brazil's national grid. ONS will run two Access Seasons annually from 2027.
