GMI Cloud closed a $668 million funding round combining equity and credit facilities to expand AI cloud infrastructure capacity.
Taiwanese neocloud GMI Cloud has raised $668 million in funding. The company secured $223 million in equity for its Series B funding round, led by ARCHIV, alongside a $445 million credit facility led by CTBC. Additional investors include Nvidia, DSC Investment, Trend Micro, KB Investment, Kyobo Life, and KT Corporation.
The capital will support GMI's capacity expansion across the US, Taiwan, and the broader APAC region, while funding the development of its inference services and enabling future hiring.
"Our customers are scaling faster than ever, and they need infrastructure that keeps pace," said Alex Yeh, founder and CEO of GMI Cloud. "AI is driving a new renaissance, and reliable compute is its foundation. Our goal is to build that foundation across continents, with an ecosystem of products on top of it."
This funding comes several months after GMI reportedly sought up to $635 million in loans backed by customer contracts, earmarked specifically for its AI factory project in Taoyuan, Taiwan. In November 2025, GMI announced plans for a $500 million data center in the city, designed to deploy approximately 7,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs across 96 racks with a power capacity of around 16MW. The facility will be housed within a Vantage Data Centers location.
Founded in 2023, GMI operates data centers across the US, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and Japan. In March 2026, the company launched a $12 billion sovereign AI infrastructure initiative in Japan and is collaborating with Magna AI on a global network of "sovereign AI factories." The company completed an $82 million Series A funding round in November 2024.
GMI's customer base includes Fireworks, Higgsfield, Nous Research, OpenRouter, Reflection, Cartesia, Trend Micro, and Utopai Studios.
