T1 Energy Inc.는 노르웨이 북부 Giga Arctic 시설 일부를 재구획할 지자체 승인을 획득했다.
Austin, Texas and New York, August 27, 2026 -- T1 Energy Inc. (NYSE: TE) announced that local officials in Mo i Rana, Norway, have rezoned a portion of the company's Giga Arctic campus to allow for data center development. This approval supports T1's value optimization initiative to monetize the brownfield facility. The company expects a 50 MW data center to become operational in 2027, with a clear pathway for future expansion. T1 currently holds a position in the grid capacity queue for a total of 396 MW and believes the existing 926,000-square-foot building is large enough to house the planned facility. On Thursday, August 27, a municipal committee approved a permit allowing 161,000 square feet of the campus to be rezoned for either industrial use or data center operations. The remainder of the structure remains zoned for industrial development but could be changed by government vote once additional grid capacity is allocated. T1 holds a 50-year lease with extension options on the site, which benefits from strong community backing, skilled local talent, and access to some of Europe's lowest-cost electricity generated primarily from regional hydropower resources.
Dan Barcelo, T1 Energy’s Chairman and CEO, stated, “The people of Mo i Rana, Norway, today took a step towards the future and showed leadership in a future of AI and technology abundance with the approval of a T1 Energy’s plan to convert Giga Arctic into a world-class data center. We are in active discussions with multiple counterparties to find a strategy to unlock shareholder value.” The company is currently engaged in conversations with multiple parties to explore potential structures and strategies for the project. T1 Energy Inc. is an energy solutions provider focused on building an integrated U.S. supply chain for solar manufacturing. Following a transformative transaction completed in December 2024, the company positioned itself as a leading U.S. solar manufacturer with a complementary solar and storage strategy. While based in the United States with plans for domestic expansion, T1 continues to explore value optimization opportunities across its European asset portfolio, including this Norwegian development.
