Nordic data center firm atNorth has completed structural work on its latest data center outside Helsinki, Finland. This week, the company announced the topping out of its FIN02 expansion in Espoo.

"The expansion represents another step in atNorth's continued investment in Finland, strengthening our presence in the Nordics and supporting the growing demand for reliable, high-performance digital infrastructure," the company said on LinkedIn.

The atNorth FIN02 campus is located on Sinimäentie in Espoo. At full build-out, the site will total 40MW across 20,050 sqm (215,815 sq ft). Plans for the original 15MW facility on the site were first announced in 2023, and the facility launched in October 2025.

Construction firm Skanska was selected in May 2026 for a €100 million ($112m) expansion at the FIN02 site. At the time, the company said the project would include a new five-story facility totaling 11,200 sqm (120,555 sq ft). Construction began in April 2026 and is scheduled for completion in Q3 2027.

atNorth was formed as Advania Data Centers in 2012 from three components: Skyrr, a public sector IT specialist in Iceland; Kerfi, a Swedish company with roots in a Nokia spin-off called Datapoint; and Hands from Norway. The company de-merged from the Advania Group in 2017, rebranded as atNorth, and was sold to Swiss investment manager Partners Group in 2021. Equinix and CPP acquired the company earlier this year.

atNorth currently operates seven data centers across Sweden, Iceland, and Finland, with additional sites under development in Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. In Finland, the company operates two facilities near the capital, Helsinki, which it acquired from former parent Advania in 2023. It is also developing FIN04, a 60MW project in Kouvola with potential to reach 430MW, and FIN05, a 230MW project planned in Salo in southwest Finland.
