NVIDIA launches DSX Ready qualification program to certify data center power and cooling hardware for AI-era infrastructure.

NVIDIA has announced the DSX Ready qualification program for power and cooling hardware used in its DSX AI factory deployments. The program establishes qualification guidelines for both battery energy storage systems (BESS) and cooling distribution units (CDUs)—components that NVIDIA does not manufacture itself—to provide customers with verified guidance on parts confirmed to work with NVIDIA's DSX racks. Though launching with batteries and cooling, NVIDIA has indicated the program will expand to additional component categories in the future.

The DSX Ready program extends NVIDIA's existing server hardware certification efforts with broader component coverage and formalized branding. The company previously offered an "NVIDIA product qualified" label for CDUs; this program formalizes and expands those requirements across a wider range of vendors. The initiative aims to streamline DGX server rack deployment by working with OEM partners to bundle critical hardware as part of the DSX AI factory blueprint while providing verified guidance on ancillary components confirmed for use with rack-scale systems.

DSX Ready represents the latest ecosystem initiative from NVIDIA in the data center space. The company maintains multiple major hardware and software ecosystems, including the CUDA software stack, the MGX platform for modular server designs, the NVLink ecosystem for cache-coherent network fabrics, and the broader DSX AI ecosystem for rack-scale systems.

The qualification process varies by component type. CDU vendors may self-qualify upon meeting NVIDIA's functional and performance specifications, subject to NVIDIA's final approval. BESS vendors face a more comprehensive process requiring submission of formal qualification testing data for NVIDIA review and approval—a reflection of the complexity and stringent safety requirements inherent to electrical systems. NVIDIA has not disclosed pricing or fees associated with DSX Ready participation and branding use.

LG Electronics, LiquidStack, and Vertiv are the initial qualified CDU vendors. Hitachi Energy, LG Energy Solution, and Tesla are the initial qualified BESS vendors.

The DSX Ready program is now active. NVIDIA has indicated that CDUs and BESSes represent only the initial component categories covered by the program, suggesting that additional data center component types will be added over time.
