Blue Owl, IREN의 AI 팩토리에서 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra 인프라 구축을 위한 24억 달러 규모의 자금 조달 패키지를 구성함.
Funds managed by Blue Owl Capital have led a $2.4 billion compute equipment financing for IREN to expand the company’s AI Cloud infrastructure using NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs. The facility comprises a $1.2 billion senior secured term loan and $1.2 billion in senior secured notes.
IREN will deploy the proceeds to acquire air-cooled NVIDIA Accelerated Computing Infrastructure, including Blackwell Ultra GPUs, for its Mackenzie data center campus in British Columbia. Rather than requiring the full $2.4 billion upfront, the financing is structured to fund hardware purchases in tranches over a defined draw period. This approach allows capital to be deployed sequentially as equipment is delivered and commissioned.
The transaction advances the buildout of IREN’s AI Cloud platform, which delivers data center capacity, compute resources, and software for AI training and inference workloads. IREN’s broader development pipeline currently exceeds 5 GW globally. The company operates a vertically integrated AI Cloud platform backed by land and grid-connected power assets across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
NVIDIA characterized the deal as further evidence that GPUs and AI factories are evolving into financeable infrastructure assets. The financing underscores how the substantial capital demands of large-scale AI infrastructure are opening new avenues for private-credit firms and alternative asset managers to directly fund compute equipment.
Blue Owl noted that its background in operating and underwriting digital infrastructure informed the facility’s design, aligning the structure with the practical delivery and commissioning cycles of AI hardware. The firm’s operational footprint spans more than 100 data centers worldwide. As of June 30, 2026, Blue Owl managed approximately $319 billion in assets across its Credit, Real Assets, and GP Strategic Capital platforms.
“This financing supports the continued build-out of our AI Cloud infrastructure at Mackenzie, expanding our capacity to serve a growing customer base across both AI training and inference workloads,” said Anthony Lewis, Chief Financial Officer of IREN.
“Blue Owl’s $2.4 billion asset-backed GPU financing for IREN is another great proof point, and a repeatable model for financing AI infrastructure at scale,” said Nico Caprez, Vice President of Global AI Infrastructure Growth at NVIDIA.
“This is equipment finance at AI scale, and it demands the same discipline,” added Kurt Tenenbaum, Senior Managing Director at Blue Owl.
