Full-stack European AI cloud platform Verda closed a $189M funding round to scale compute, storage, and AI model services across Europe.

Verda's well-capitalized expansion reinforces the emergence of regional, non-hyperscaler GPU cloud competitors; European data sovereignty attracts capital away from US-centric cloud platforms.

Helsinki-based Verda has closed $189 million (€163 million) in Series B funding to scale its full-stack European AI cloud. The oversubscribed round was led by Emergence Capital, with participation from MUFG Innovation Partners, Supermicro, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Lifeline Ventures, ENDUR, 6 Degrees Capital, byFounders, Tesi, and angels Ola Tørudbakken and Mark Saroufim.

Founded in 2020, Verda operates across every layer of AI infrastructure—physical data centers, hardware, cloud platform, and AI research. The capital will accelerate product development across the stack, from expanding compute capacity to building platform services for frontier AI teams developing agentic systems. The company plans to invest heavily in inference capabilities and multiply its compute capacity over the coming year.

"AI is becoming critical infrastructure, and the coming years represent a pivotal window for Europe," said founder and CEO Ruben Bryon. "We aim to build the region's first true tech company while reducing the carbon footprint of compute worldwide." Joe Floyd, General Partner at Emergence Capital, added: "Demand for AI compute is insatiable, and Verda is moving quickly to secure and scale capacity."

Verda reached $165 million in annualized revenue run rate as of July and has raised more than $450 million to date. The company recently opened offices in London and San Francisco, with further expansion planned across Europe, the US, and Asia.
