Nidec announced a 3.2MW in-row CDU that will enter mass production next year.
Japan's Nidec Corporation has announced a new in-row coolant distribution unit (CDU) for liquid-cooled data center environments. The company has officially announced the development of the Nidec In-Row Coolant Distribution Unit, NIR3.0.
The NIR3.0 will deliver a maximum cooling capacity of 3.2MW and is fully compatible with the 800VDC high-voltage direct current power standard. Supporting 800VDC can reduce power conversion and transmission losses compared with traditional AC or lower-voltage DC systems, which could help improve power usage effectiveness (PUE).
Nidec aims to begin mass production in the first half of 2027.
Founded in 1973, Nidec Corporation (formerly Nippon Densan Corporation) is primarily known as a Japanese manufacturer and distributor of electric motors. The company also develops in-rack and in-row CDUs and cold plates, and makes music boxes.
