Nutanix acquires Ryax Technologies to integrate GPU management and orchestration across enterprise AI platforms, addressing GPU bottleneck constraints in agentic AI workloads.
Nutanix Inc. (NTNX) is expanding its agentic AI infrastructure capabilities through an acquisition of France-based Ryax Technologies, whose software automates GPU and CPU optimization while intelligently scheduling AI workloads across fragmented computing environments. Nutanix announced the acquisition on Tuesday, with Ryax's technology planned for integration into Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI). Financial terms were not disclosed; the company characterized the acquisition's financial impact as immaterial.
The deal targets a critical constraint in enterprise AI deployment. GPU shortages and fragmented infrastructure are forcing companies to distribute computing workloads across private data centers, major cloud providers, and newer AI-focused cloud operators known as "neoclouds"—a sprawl that obscures optimal placement decisions. Ryax addresses this through two core capabilities: Intelligent Resource Optimization improves utilization of available GPUs and CPUs, while AI-Aware Smart Scheduling automatically places AI workloads on hardware based on performance and cost. The platform also automates infrastructure provisioning, data management, and code setup—obstacles Nutanix identifies as key barriers preventing enterprise AI projects from moving beyond prototyping to production scale.
"Agentic AI requires a flexible architecture, simple operations and the ability to use infrastructure far more efficiently," said Nutanix CEO Rajiv Ramaswami. "Ryax directly addresses challenges around managing agentic AI infrastructure."
Ryax's engineering team will remain based in France as part of Nutanix's operations, continuing development of the technology. The company cautioned that planned integrations are still under development and not yet committed product features.
The acquisition aligns with Nutanix's broader positioning of its hybrid-cloud platform as infrastructure for enterprise AI. More than half of the Global 2000 already deploy Nutanix technology, providing an established customer base for introducing new capabilities. During fiscal 2026, Nutanix grew revenue 12% year-over-year to $2.85 billion, while annual recurring revenue increased 16% to $2.55 billion. Free cash flow rose to $840.7 million from $750.2 million in the prior year, and the company added more than 3,000 new customers over the period, with Ramaswami highlighting AI as a key innovation driver.
