NVIDIA plans to connect 576 Rubin Ultra GPUs using co-packaged optics (CPO) next year to form one giant GPU with what it describes as 'highest performance per watt', aimed at driving 10 trillion-parameter AI models.
A 576-GPU Rubin Ultra domain linked by CPO would push scale-up interconnect design toward optical links in 2027, a major shift for rack-level networking supply chains.
