NVIDIA가 Hugging Face를 $12,930,300,000에 인수하기로 합의했으며, 개방형 플랫폼으로서의 역할 유지를 약속했습니다.
NVIDIA is acquiring Hugging Face, the platform used by more than 18 million developers, researchers and creators to share over 3 million models, 500,000 datasets and 1 million applications. The acquisition price is $12,930,300,000. More than 200,000 companies currently use Hugging Face to discover, evaluate, customize and deploy AI.
The announcement emphasizes that Hugging Face will remain an open platform for the entire AI ecosystem. Developers will retain the freedom to choose their preferred models, frameworks, cloud providers, inference service providers and computing platforms. NVIDIA compute will not be required to build on or deploy through Hugging Face. The platform will continue to support open source and open weight models from across the ecosystem and maintain support for multi-cloud and multi-accelerator development and deployment.
NVIDIA's leadership highlighted the strategic importance of open weights to the AI economy, noting that open models enable startups, businesses, universities and public institutions to build on advanced capabilities without training every model from scratch. This capability allows organizations to match the right model to the right job and helps ensure that AI leadership is distributed across companies, institutions and communities. The company stated that AI advances faster when people can build together.
NVIDIA has been a major contributor to Hugging Face for years, having released more than 500 models on the platform and more than 250 open datasets. The company is the largest contributor of open models and data to Hugging Face. NVIDIA's infrastructure, engineering and global reach will be deployed to improve platform reliability, safety, model evaluation, inference and deployment capabilities while preserving the open ecosystem. The Hugging Face team will continue operating under their iconic brand while bringing their expertise to a larger canvas.
