Mesrop Mesropyan, Head of Armenia's Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC), met on Tuesday with representatives from "Firebird AI" data center and "Electric Power System Operator" CJSC to discuss connecting the artificial intelligence data center to the country's power grid. Discussions covered the provision of necessary power capacity and the potential impact of the data center's operations on Armenia's energy system. Meeting participants presented observations and proposals and outlined areas for future discussion and cooperation.

The Firebird AI project was announced in June 2025 by the Government of Armenia, NVIDIA, Firebird, and Team Group. Firebird owns the data center, which features infrastructure capacity exceeding 100 MW, with Dell as a project partner and NVIDIA supplying high-performance Blackwell GPUs. The investment volume for the first phase stands at $500 million. Upon completion of the second phase, total investment could reach approximately $5 billion, with around 42,000 additional NVIDIA Blackwell-generation GPUs put into operation.

The facility will support the development of artificial intelligence technologies, biosciences, robotics, and space exploration. The project is being implemented with the support of the Armenian and US governments.
