Rightfiber completes acquisition of Fastwyre's Nebraska data center and fiber operations.
Rightfiber has completed its acquisition of Fastwyre Broadband's Nebraska operations, adding the properties to its growing US broadband footprint. The acquisition was first announced in May.
The completion follows the recent formation of Rightfiber itself, created when parent company Grain Management finalized its strategic combination of fiber providers Ritter Communications and Great Plains Communications. Following that merger, Rightfiber secured a $1.6 billion credit facility led by Fifth Third Bank to fund organic growth and potential M&A activity.
The acquisition expands Rightfiber's presence to 20 states with more than 28,000 route miles of fiber and over 300,000 Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) passings. The company has already begun integrating Fastwyre's Nebraska operations and said customers "will receive ongoing communications throughout the transition, including information about products, services, billing, and future enhancements."
"Nebraska has been an important part of our story for more than 115 years, and completing this acquisition reinforces our long-term commitment to the communities we serve across the state," said Todd Foje, executive chairman of Rightfiber. "We're excited to build on that legacy by strengthening our relationships across Nebraska and continuing to support the people, businesses and communities that have been the foundation of our success for generations."
The transaction encompasses Fastwyre's Nebraska operations serving Arlington, Bassett, Belden, Bellevue, Blair, Carroll, Emerson, Fort Calhoun, Fremont, Herman, Homer, Kennard, Laurel, Lyons, Macy, Meadow Grove, Newport, Oakland, Osmond, Pender, Rosalie, Tekamah, Thurston, Walthill, Wayne, and Winnebago. Financial terms were not disclosed.
