Applied Digital completes its second building at the Ellendale data center campus in North Dakota, bringing total capacity to 250MW.
Applied Digital has completed build-out of a second building at its CoreWeave-leased data center campus in Ellendale, North Dakota. The company achieved ready-for-service status for the second phase of Building 2 at its Polaris Forge 1 campus, delivering an additional 75MW of critical IT load across three 25MW data halls. With the 150MW Building 2 now completed, the campus reaches 250MW of operational capacity and is positioned to deliver 400MW of IT capacity at full build-out.
Polaris Forge 1 began construction in September 2022 as part of Applied Digital's crypto and HPC business, but all of its capacity is now allocated to CoreWeave. The first phase of Building 2 went live in July, while the first phase of Building 1 was completed in December 2025.
"Bringing another 75MW of AI infrastructure online at Polaris Forge 1 further demonstrates our ability to turn large-scale power into operational AI infrastructure," said Wes Cummins, CEO and chairman of Applied Digital. "Securing power is only the starting point. The real work is designing, building, commissioning, and operating the infrastructure that transforms those megawatts into usable capacity for customers. That is the capability we continue to scale across our platform."
Founded in 2021 as Applied Blockchain, Applied Digital is pivoting toward AI and HPC data center development and has signed multiple large-scale deals with hyperscale customers. Its contracted portfolio now spans five AI Factory campuses, totaling 1.4GW of critical IT load and approximately 2.15GW of grid-connected utility power.
Beyond Polaris Forge 1, Applied Digital operates several additional sites. Polaris Forge 2, located in Harwood, North Dakota, is set to be largely leased to an unnamed investment-grade hyperscaler. Polaris Forge 3 is designed to offer 430MW and is leased to an unnamed hyperscaler. Applied's 430MW Delta Forge 1 site, to be located outside Alexandria, Louisiana, is pre-leased to a US-based high investment-grade hyperscaler. Delta Forge 2 will be situated near Brookwood, Alabama.
The Nasdaq-listed firm continues to operate two cryptomining sites in Jamestown and Ellendale, North Dakota, totaling approximately 286MW. It recently spun off its ChronoScale cloud unit.
