EUCLYD has raised more than €200 million in Series A financing to develop ultra-efficient semiconductor and data center infrastructure designed to reduce the power, memory, and capital requirements of running large foundation AI models. The round was co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, the Scaleup Europe Fund managed by EQT, and Innovation Industries. Additional participants include EIFO, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark; imec.xpand; Brabant Development Agency; and Quadri.

Former ASML President and CEO Peter Wennink has joined EUCLYD as Chairman of the Board. The substantial capital injection positions the company to tackle one of the artificial intelligence industry’s most pressing challenges: the rapidly escalating infrastructure demands required to run increasingly capable AI models. As foundation models grow larger and more sophisticated, they consume greater amounts of computing power, memory bandwidth, electricity, and data center capacity. These requirements drive up both the financial costs and physical complexity of deploying AI at scale.

To address this, EUCLYD is developing an integrated platform that spans specialized computing hardware, memory architecture, and data center systems, all intended to improve the economics of AI inference. The company’s long-term objective is to create “Abundant Intelligence,” a future where access to advanced AI is less constrained by infrastructure costs, energy availability, or geography. Founded by Bernardo Kastrup and Atul Sinha, EUCLYD is headquartered at High Tech Campus Eindhoven in the Netherlands and is building its operations around Europe’s semiconductor engineering and advanced manufacturing ecosystem.

At the center of EUCLYD’s product roadmap is craftwerk, described as the world’s first agentic AI silicon. The company is also developing the craftwerk station CWS, positioned as the world’s lowest-power exascale AI factory. The broader platform combines programmable application-specific integrated circuit computing, processor-memory co-design, and system-level optimization to overcome the memory and efficiency limitations that increasingly constrain AI performance and scalability.

AI inference has become a critical component of infrastructure economics as models transition from training to widespread production use. While training a frontier AI model demands enormous computing resources, serving that model repeatedly to potentially millions of users presents a distinct set of infrastructure challenges. Lowering the cost per token and reducing the electricity consumed during AI inference could have significant implications for enterprises, cloud providers, and governments deploying AI at scale. EUCLYD is positioning its technology directly around this opportunity.

Rather than focusing solely on individual AI accelerators, the company is designing computing, memory, and data center infrastructure as a unified system. This approach aims to increase efficiency across the entire AI deployment stack. EUCLYD plans to deploy the Series A proceeds to expand its engineering organization, accelerate development of its silicon and systems roadmap, strengthen partnerships across the semiconductor and AI infrastructure ecosystem, and prepare its technology for commercial deployment. The company is targeting enterprise, sovereign AI, and hyperscale customers.

The investor group brings extensive experience in semiconductors, technology, and institutional capital. Samsung’s participation provides a strategic link to one of the world’s largest semiconductor and electronics manufacturers. EQT’s Scaleup Europe Fund is targeting €5 billion and focuses on European technology companies across deep technology, AI, and life sciences. Innovation Industries manages approximately €1 billion and specializes in European deep-tech ventures. imec.xpand concentrates specifically on semiconductor startups that can leverage the expertise and infrastructure of research organization imec. Peter Wennink’s appointment is particularly notable given his previous leadership of ASML, a strategically vital company in the global semiconductor supply chain.

EUCLYD believes Europe’s existing expertise in semiconductor equipment, manufacturing, and systems engineering provides a strong foundation for building a globally competitive AI infrastructure company. The more than €200 million Series A gives the firm the resources needed to execute that strategy as power efficiency, memory bandwidth, and infrastructure costs continue to emerge as primary constraints on AI deployment.

KEY QUOTES:

“AI is becoming a foundation of economic growth, scientific discovery, and national competitiveness, but its potential will remain constrained unless we fundamentally change the infrastructure beneath it. This financing accelerates our mission to make intelligence abundant through greater efficiency, lower cost per token, and broader access to advanced AI.”

Bernardo Kastrup, Founder and CEO of EUCLYD

“The next phase of AI will be defined not only by model innovation, but also by the efficiency and scalability of its infrastructure. EUCLYD combines an accomplished team with a differentiated vision addressing constraints in AI datacenters.”

Dede Goldschmidt, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics and Head of the Samsung Semiconductor Innovation Center

“Europe has the engineering talent to produce globally significant technology companies. EUCLYD combines deep semiconductor expertise with a mission to tackle some of the hardest constraints in AI infrastructure.”

Ted Persson, Partner at EQT and Co-Head of the Scaleup Europe Fund

“Europe possesses world-class capabilities across semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, and systems engineering. EUCLYD can transform those strengths into a globally competitive AI infrastructure platform.”

Peter Wennink, Chairman of EUCLYD and Former President and CEO of ASML
