According to research by Arizton released July 15, 2026, data center investments surged approximately 35.22% in 2025 compared to 2024, with the expansion fueled by AI workload deployment across data centers worldwide and billions of dollars in annual spending by hyperscale operators including Amazon Web Services, Apple, Google, Meta, and Microsoft.

Regional investment patterns show significant geographic shifts. Latin America is projected to attract 31 billion dollars in cumulative investment excluding IT infrastructure between 2026 and 2031, led by Brazil, Chile, and Mexico. In the APAC region, data center market investments increased around 31.99% in 2025 compared to 2024, with rapid AI adoption in China emerging as a key investment driver. Around 515 million people had adopted AI for daily operations as of June 2025, with adoption expected to reach 70 percent of the population by 2027 and over 90 percent by 2030.

Europe shows concentration in mature markets, with the UK and Germany accounting for 19.59 percent and 13.74 percent respectively of European data center market investment in 2025, with their shares expected to increase to 21.59 percent and 14.72 percent by 2031. The Nordic region benefits from natural free cooling and access to hydropower, wind, and geothermal energy. Sweden is expected to account for 44.70 percent of Nordic investment, supported by mature connectivity, strong digital adoption, and multiple global cloud regions. The Middle East faces rising challenges, as the Israel-Iran conflict has increased physical and operational risks for digital infrastructure, with reported impacts on hyperscale facilities in the UAE and Bahrain operated by AWS and Oracle, including missile and drone activity contributing to power disruptions, fire damage, cooling failures, and cascading cloud-service outages.

Liquid cooling technology is gaining momentum to address the heat demands of AI and HPC workloads, with direct liquid cooling offering efficiency rates of 1.02 to 1.03 PUE and accommodating racks exceeding 50 kilowatts. The technology improves water usage effectiveness and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The report encompasses analysis of 6,192 data center facilities across five key regions.
