Telecommunications giant PLDT announced on Tuesday, through its information and communication technology arm ePLDT, that it is set to build its 11th and largest hyperscale data center in the Philippines.

The expansion comes amid global data indicating that the Philippines is becoming one of the most promising hubs in Asia-Pacific for hyperscale investments. The country's attractiveness to major infrastructure players stems from several converging factors that have strengthened its competitive position in the region.

The conditions supporting this investment include the Philippines' favorable business climate, accelerated cloud adoption across industries, demographic shifts toward hybrid working arrangements, long-term government strategy supporting technology infrastructure, and sustainability efforts aimed at responsible development. These elements collectively position the Philippines as an increasingly attractive destination for large-scale data center operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
