LAS VEGAS, Aug. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- BOXABL Inc. (Nasdaq: BXBL), the factory-built construction company known for reimagining how buildings are made, today unveiled its Server Pod concept. This is a design study for modular, factory-assembled enclosures intended to house AI and cloud computing infrastructure. The Server Pod remains a concept only, as BOXABL has not begun manufacturing or selling them. The company is publishing the concept to demonstrate its factory capabilities and to invite data center developers, operators, and equipment vendors to engage BOXABL for designing and manufacturing custom structures tailored to specific deployments.

BOXABL notes that factory assembly could address speed, cost, and labor challenges as the sector approaches what JLL Research calls one of the largest infrastructure investment supercycles in the modern era. According to JLL's 2026 Global Data Center Market Outlook, the sector is expected to grow at a 14% CAGR through 2030, with roughly 100 GW of new capacity coming online between 2026 and 2030, nearly doubling global capacity. Meeting this demand requires up to $3 trillion in total investment, comprising approximately $1.2 trillion in real estate asset value creation plus another $1 to $2 trillion in tenant spending for servers, GPUs, and networking equipment. Additionally, data center construction costs have risen at a 7% CAGR since 2020, and speed to power is now the top site-selection criterion, with grid connection wait times exceeding four years in many primary markets.

JLL's outlook also notes that AI represented roughly a quarter of data center workloads in 2025, with a shift anticipated in 2027 as inference overtakes training as the dominant AI compute requirement. This transition is expected to push workloads from centralized clusters toward distributed, regional deployments, a trend BOXABL believes factory-built, repeatable structures are well suited to support.

To illustrate the idea, BOXABL developed concept configurations that scale from compact edge deployments to campus-scale installations using a single design language. Each pod would pair filtered-air and liquid-cooled precision cooling with an energy-efficient, thermally broken building envelope, allowing operators to dedicate space to processing power rather than additional real estate. Units would leave the factory as pre-cabled, clean enclosures built around pre-installed racks on a structural pallet frame with integrated fork pockets for rapid on-site positioning. Conceptual engineering targets include 2-inch exterior wall, floor-over-frame, and ceiling assemblies each targeting an R-8 insulation value, a 50 psf floor live load, a 40 psf roof live load, and a 110 mph wind speed rating. In custom projects, on-site work would generally involve validating site conditions, site preparation, utilities, anchoring, permitting, easements, setbacks, and connecting servers, structural elements, and electrical service. All specifications remain conceptual and subject to project-level engineering review.
