CoreWeave announces 360MW data center expansion in Indonesia as first Asian push, targeting gigawatt-scale capacity across Asia-Pacific by 2030.

CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) plans to open three AI data centers in Indonesia, marking the cloud-computing provider's first infrastructure expansion into the Asia-Pacific region. The facilities will provide a combined 360 megawatts of contracted information-technology capacity and are expected to begin operating in 2028, according to an August 4 statement from the company. CoreWeave will own and operate the computing environments at all three sites, offering its AI cloud platform to laboratories, startups, and large corporate customers across Southeast Asia.

The company did not disclose the specific sites, project cost, financing structure, or any customers already committed to use the capacity. The expansion is intended to address demand for computing infrastructure located closer to Asian customers and their data, particularly for applications sensitive to network latency or subject to data-localization requirements. CoreWeave also plans to recruit and train a local operating team in Indonesia to support the new facilities.
