VivoPower has selected a preferred long-term tenant—a global AI industry leader—for its 41.5-megawatt Mo i Rana data cen
VivoPower PLC announced on June 29, 2026 that it has selected a preferred long-term tenant for its Mo i Rana AI data center in northern Norway, following its shortlist announcement on May 21, 2026. The company and its preferred tenant are working to finalize legal documentation as soon as practicable, with further announcements regarding counterparty identity and material commercial terms expected in the near term.
The selected tenant is a global AI industry leader chosen from a competitive field of prospective tenants. VivoPower assessed the counterparty as superior across previously disclosed evaluation criteria including commercial terms, financial strength and credit quality, operational alignment, strategic fit, and optionality for capacity expansion.
The bilateral discussions have extended beyond the Mo i Rana facility. Additional arrangements under negotiation relate to VivoPower's wider powered land and data center development pipeline and, if completed, would deepen the relationship across multiple jurisdictions.
Mo i Rana is a fully operational 41.5-megawatt data center powered by 100 percent renewable hydroelectric energy at a cost below US$0.05 per kilowatt-hour, among Europe's lowest. A further 40 megawatts of permitted expansion capacity may be energized within 18 to 24 months subject to regulatory approval, bringing total site capacity above 80 megawatts.
VivoPower, originally founded in 2014 and listed on Nasdaq since 2016, is a B Corporation with data center and powered land infrastructure across Norway, Finland, and the United Arab Emirates. The company positions itself as an independent, trusted partner for sovereign nations developing sustainable data center infrastructure and ensuring sovereign control over power, data, and national intelligence.
