WhiteFiber, Inc., a leading provider of artificial intelligence infrastructure and high-performance computing solutions, announced through its wholly owned subsidiary Enovum Data Centers Corp. that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase two industrial properties in Yadkin County, North Carolina. The company intends to convert these sites into data center campuses designated as NC-2 and NC-3. Located roughly 55 miles from WhiteFiber's existing NC-1 campus in Madison, North Carolina, the new facilities will significantly expand the company's regional footprint and leverage established operating capabilities and relationships.
The acquired properties are projected to deliver a combined minimum of 60 MW of initial gross utility capacity, with early due diligence suggesting they could ultimately support up to approximately 200 MW over time. WhiteFiber aims to have the campuses ready for service by the third quarter of 2027, pending acquisition completion and standard development conditions. The firm is currently in advanced talks with prospective customers and has secured non-binding letters of intent backed by investment-grade credit support. The existing industrial infrastructure and adjacent land align well with WhiteFiber's retrofit-first strategy, which is designed to speed up market entry and enhance capital efficiency compared to traditional greenfield projects.
Sam Tabar, Chief Executive Officer of WhiteFiber, said, "This agreement is an important next step in scaling WhiteFiber's data center platform." He continued, "NC-2 and NC-3 would expand our North Carolina footprint near NC-1, allowing us to build on the capabilities and relationships we have established in the region. With strong prospective customer interest and initial capacity targeted for 2027, we believe these properties can become a meaningful next phase of our growth. We look forward to working closely with local stakeholders and being a responsible long-term partner to the community." The cash purchase price for the properties is $60.0 million, and the transaction is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
