Indian datacenter operator CtrlS and Thailand's National Telecom establish hyperscale datacenter campus in Thailand for regional AI compute.

CtrlS Datacenters, the largest Rated-4 datacenter operator in Asia, has partnered with National Telecom Public Company (NT), a prominent telecom provider with an extensive international communication network in Thailand, to establish a 150-MW hyperscale datacenter campus at the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in Chonburi. This initiative marks CtrlS' inaugural foray into international markets and their first hyperscale datacenter campus in Thailand.

The facility employs a "Convergence of DCT" approach, integrating data center colocation services, cable landing station (CLS), network connectivity hub, and cloud-based services. NT will serve as the partnership's network and connectivity partner, creating a comprehensive infrastructure that combines multiple operational elements into a single integrated solution.

The strategic location in the EEC positions the datacenter adjacent to submarine cable landing stations for the existing Asia-America Gateway (AAG) cable system and the forthcoming Asia Direct Cable (ADC) cable system, set to launch in the first quarter of the upcoming year. This positioning transforms the facility into a pivotal interconnection point equipped with both submarine and terrestrial cable networks, facilitating connections to other data centers and industrial estates.

Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Chairman of CtrlS Datacenters, expressed the significance of the collaboration in catering to "customers' digital service needs on both domestic and international fronts," emphasizing the datacenter's ability to address hyperscaler requirements while serving the high-end IT and compute needs of local enterprises. Ashish Ahuja, CTO of CtrlS Datacenters, noted the strategic importance of extending submarine cable landing stations into the datacenter, which will establish a new Teleport and Point of Interconnection within the facility. Colonel Sanpachai Huvanandana, President and CEO of NT, highlighted the collaboration's role in advancing the telecommunications network and fostering digital technology utilization within the Eastern Economic Corridor, positioning Thailand as an attractive economic center and business destination.
